Proud to announce. This blog will remain live until June 2016.

Hi All,

Yes the title means what you think it does.

I'll be around here for grad school.

In other news... I just walked out of my last class for the quarter.

1 Quarter down, and now another 4 to go.

New Year, New Classes

Hi All,

I just realized its been since October since I've posted anything, which I guess got somewhat mitigated by seeing many of you over the holidays, but still...

Lets see... what's happened recently?...

We have officially placed the cement for the Concrete Canoe, it gets removed from the mold on Saturday, then we have the long process of making it look awesome for the competition.

I read a quizbowl tournament for High Schoolers last weekend, and am playing in a "Trash" (pop-culture) themed packet before coming home for the Super Bowl this weekend (because frankly there's no way I'm missing that).

And finally I'm working on projects and studying for midterms that are in the coming weeks.

My classes this quarter include a tech writing class (I still hate English... hehe guess that's why I'm an Engineering major), Groundwater Hydrology (which is as complicated as it sounds) and Renewable Energy (which is essentially a look through the lenses of Thermodynamics, Organic Chemistry, and Computational Fluid Dynamics at Solar, Biorenewables (such as converting waste products from Coal plants into fuels) and Wind/Hydro Energy). Its really a neat class.

Other than that, I have been loving this unseasonably warm January (seriously? 63 Degrees on Monday. I wore shorts and a T-shirt. I think this is a first time I've ever had the chance to do that in mid-January).

Hope you all are doing well.

Midterms and GO HAWKS!,

First Post of New School Year

Hi All,

This is the first post of the new school year.

I am enjoying the new apartment, and particularly love the view, especially from the balcony. (See picture below)

I'm taking a bunch of Environmental Engineering classes this year and they are far more enjoyable than last years. When I come back to the apartment I don't have to deal with dorm food, and can cook for myself, and enjoy it with a view.

But, now of course things are starting to get busy. Homework is starting to ramp up, Quizbowl and Concrete Canoe are getting into full swing, I REALLY need to get my act together and work on grad school applications, study for FE & GRE exams, and still manage to breathe.

But hey, I can survive it and this year will definitely be gratifying.

Oma & Opa, I hope you had a Happy Birthday, It was nice coming down to visit last weekend.
Nanny & Papa, Fort Stevens sounded nice, I'm going to have to hear all about it.
Uncle Eric- You're kicking everyones butt in Pick'Em. Dad is starting to second guess every pick he makes. Success! :)
Aunt Carol-I hope you had a Happy Birthday this past week.

Anyways, this should hopefully be the first of many blog posts for the year, so I'll try and keep this more up to date.

Water Views & (a getting closer) Backyard deck,

Ok I've truly been horrible... I've neglected this for too long due other things...

Hi All,

It has literally been 2 months so I truly feel bad for not updating you guys.

This quarter has almost entirely been spent writing memos and studying for exams... 2 memos and a Midterm every... single...... week...until now. But, things are finally looking up. I finished my last midterm on Wednesday, and now only have finals to go.

Also, during this quarter I applied, interviewed for (and as of about a half hour ago) received an Internship at Boeing this summer. (This pretty much made my month).

Uncle Eric~ I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you. The Martian was fantastic. It was truely an amazing read. Thank you so much for it!

Nanny and Papa~Hope the play was good last night, you looked like you were having a good time, so I hope the play was decent.

Oma and Opa~Hope you two are doing well, the weather has been decent so I bet the garden looks great.

I can't wait to see you all (3 weeks of the quarter left then I'm back home again.)

Midterms, Memo's and somehow a Job,

Finals Week... its about time.

Hi All,
Sorry for not posting much, its been... in a word... hell this quarter. Its finally finals week, and I'm looking forward to being done. Hardest final is today in about 2 hours, then next hardest is Wednesday, and I got the cheeseball final on Friday, so theoretically this week gets more relaxing as it progresses.
Although, I have to say, studying is a lot easier then the normal grind of homework for these classes. In structures we had a standing joke that our homework for the quarter is longer than our TA's masters thesis.
1 week 'til real food, and some much needed time away from this place.
The end, and (oh yeah, almost forgot) real food, (Did I mention I'm looking forward to that?)

Laughing at the "shear" (engineering pun intended) insanity of my schedule.

Hi all,
Been working 9am to Midnight on Homework every single day of the week. The side view of my structures assignment seemed pretty comical so I figured I'd post it. It's above, and is about 20 pages. (For the record, those 20 pages are a whopping 5 problems...)
Welcome to Civil Engineering!

Homework, and what else? More Homework,
